On May 9 - 10, 2019, the representatives of UZEX JSC attended 22nd annual conference of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM), held in Chicago (USA).
The main purpose of the visit were the recognition the Uzbek Commodity Exchange to the members of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM), establishing business contacts with leading foreign stock exchanges, and also discussing issues of cooperation in the futures trading.
Presentations were made by the leaders of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM), the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group), and the Futures Industry Association (FIA), the American Financial Exchange (AFX), the US National Futures Association (NFA) and other international specialized organizations.
Earlier in February 2019, the JSC UZEX became a full member of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM). General meeting of AFM members held during the conference, in which the UZEX were officially presented to the organization members.
The event also included an introductory meeting of Chairman of the Board of UZRTB JSC Farohidin Ibragimov with Chairman and CEO of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) Terry Duffy.
Meetings held with Chairman and President of the Futures Markets Association, as well as with the Director for Trading and Risk Management of the Dubai Gold Commodity Exchange (DGCX) and other leaders and experts from reputable organizations during the event.
The conference also arranged for the forum participants a visit to the Global Command Center (GCC) of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The main task of the Center is to ensure the stable operation of the electronic trading system CME Globex.
The results of the plenary sessions summed up, future prospects discussed and made concluding remarks at the end of the conference.
