In February 2017, the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX) saw deals for 1.08 trillion soums, which is 19% higher than in the same period last year. Positive dynamics of trading was observed on the stock exchange platform, as well as in the system of state and corporate purchases.
 
During the period under review, goods for 873.5 billion soums were sold through exchange trades, which is 22.7% more than in February 2016. Noticeable growth in sales was observed in the building materials segment, as a result their share in the stock market grew from 26% to 29%. The situation is similar for non-ferrous metals, the share of which also increased from 8% to 11%. Due to reduction in sales volumes, the share of liquefied gas decreased from 9% to 5%, polyethylene - from 13% to 8%.
 
In addition, export contracts for $ 8 million were concluded on the currency trading platform of the exchange, with an increase of 51.7%. A significant part of the export market or 63% was taken by polyethylene. Moreover, mineral fertilizers with a share of 9%, nonferrous metals - 9%, liquefied gas - 8%, polypropylene - 8%, oil products and chemical products - 3% were sold for export.
 
In February this year, the total volume of transactions concluded with the participation of small businesses and private entrepreneurship reached 703.7 billion soums, which is 6.5% more than in the same period in 2016. At the same time, entrepreneurs purchased commodity resources through the exchange for 499.7 billion soums and sold products for 204 billion soums.
 
During the period under review, the volume of fair trade reached 125.4 billion soums. The largest deals on exhibition platform of the exchange were concluded on the sale of chemical products, construction materials, equipment and spare parts.
 
The system of public procurement ("D-xarid") saw deals for 38.9 billion soums, which is 24.3% more than in February 2016. At the same time, budget funds savings increased from 7.6 billion soums to 10.2 billion soums compared to February last year. The share of small businesses in the supply of goods for government purchases was 98% of the number and total volume of transactions. During the reporting period, the volume of transactions concluded in the electronic catalog system grew by 26.6% to 3.1 billion soums.
 
The volume of corporate purchases ("E-xarid") for the past month amounted to 39.3 billion soums, which is 17.8% more than in February 2016. The share of small businesses in the supply of goods for corporate purchases was 96% of the number of transactions and 97% of their volume. During the trade, 18 counter offers were received on average for each application.
