On July 23, the Board of the Uzbek Commodity Exchange held an enlarged meeting on the results of the work of the exchange during the first half of 2016, as well as the tasks set for the third quarter. The meeting was attended by the heads of subdivisions of the Central apparatus and regional branches.
As was noted during the event, all trading platforms of the exchange during the first half of this year demonstrated positive results. The total volume of transactions made up 5.73 trillion soums. In particular, the volume of exchange transactions increased by 37.5% and amounted to 4.4 trillion soums. Hereby, the growth of in-kind sales was marked on such commodities as coal –75.8%, polyethylene – 19.2%, copper products –17.7%, mineral fertilizers –10.8%, feed wheat –13.7%, sugar – 11%, and others. 4292 new customers registered in the electronic system of settlement and clearing services.
The reporting period also saw a wide participation of business entities in the exchange fair and auction trade. Thus, in January-June of this year, the entrepreneurs purchased through the exchange products worth 2.86 trillion soums, or 19.2% more than in the first half of 2015. Along with this, they sold products worth 1.28 trillion soums, or 42.4% more than the same period last year.
The positive dynamics of trades was recorded also in the system of exhibition-fair trades, the volume of which increased by 67% and comprised 780.2 billion soums. The number of deals committed on this platform increased by 7.9%. Domestic products worth $30.4 million were exported through the exhibition-fair trading and currency trading platform of the stock exchange. An increase compared to the same period of 2015 made up 12.3%.
Under public procurement, the volume of electronic trading in the system "D-xarid" increased by 18.4% and amounted to 249.5 billion soums, with the budget savings amounting to 58.9 billion soums. The share of small businesses in the supply of goods (works, services) on public procurement via electronic auction trades made up more than 99% of the number and volume of concluded deals. In the electronic catalogue was purchased of the commodities by 33.2 billion soums and saved 12.3 billion soums of budget funds.
The volume of corporate procurement E-xarid" increased by 27.1%, having amounted to 217.2 billion soums. The share of small businesses in the supply of goods (works, services) for corporate procurement via electronic auction trades made up more than 98% of the number and volume of concluded deals. In the course of the auction, each request in the average received 16 counter-offers.
New interactive services, such as legal advice, refund, calculator and forum were launched in the framework of the creation of additional facilities for entrepreneurs on a special information portal of the stock exchange. The content and functionality of b2b.uzex.uz - a website for entrepreneurs was improved. A new "Online consultant" module for the interactive communication of entrepreneurs with employees of the exchange was implemented in the "Entrepreneurship" section of the Single portal of state interactive services.
The meeting also discussed the issue of gradual implementation of the concept of "UZEX" for the period 2016-2020, which provides for further improvement of the trading platforms of commodity exchanges and development of new activities.
