New seller - «LUKOIL Overseas Supply and Trading Ltd» has been activated in the market of technical sulfur of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange. Just for July, this company sold 3.7 thousand tons of sulfur for 201 million soums. According to the press service of UZEX, the share of «LUKOIL Overseas Supply and Trading Ltd» in total sales of sulfur exceeded 14%.
Overall, over the past 7 months of the current year 27 thousand tons of sulfur were sold through electronic exchange auctions, which three times exceeds last year’s figure. Manufacturers realized three types of sulfur, but the Gas Sulfur Lump became the undisputed leader in terms of sales. It should be noted that the proportion of lump sulfur in the reporting period constituted 99%, while last year this figure reached 87%. In addition to this brand granulated and ground sulfur were realized through exchange, total sales of which amounted to 191 tons, which is 84% less than last year’s results.
As for the price dynamics of the gas sulfur lump, over the period under review the market showed a downward trend. Thus, as for the beginning of the year the average price equaled to 66 thousand soums per ton, in July it decreased to 54 thousand soums.
According to market participants, these dynamics are primarily linked to the volume of issuing, which over the last few months increased considerably. In particular, over the past four months, the average monthly billing of sulfur comprised 4.4 thousand tons, which is 1.5 thousand tones more than in the first quarter of this year.
