Active trades has remained at building glass market of Uzbek Commodity Exchange (UZEX).In particular, since the beginning of the year more than 3.5 million square meters of building glass, which is 85% more than last year were realized through electronic exchange trades. The main manufacturer of this product became "Quartz," the largest glass producer in Central Asia.
The dynamics of exchange prices for glass shows an upward trend. So, if in the period from January to May 2015 the exchange prices were in the range of 10.5 - 11.0 thousand soums per square meter, from June to August the figure rose from 12.4 thousand soums to 15.7 thousand soums for 1 sq.m. According to traders, a significant rise in prices in recent months is due to increased demand, which traditionally is being observed during the construction season. However, for 7.5 months of 2015 the line of its price trend on the commodity exchange on average was 8% lower than last year's level.
